From the discussions related to this previous post, I’ll take the time to answer the question here, so it doesn’t get lost in the mix.
How about pictures of other islands in Indonesia? Seperti Sumatra, Kalimantan, dan Irian Jaya (They are not small and rich of cultures as well).
And how about the one close to home? I haven’t seen Javanese dancer and much of javanese cultures in your gallery (Seperti Tari Jaipongan dan tari bondan–those are popular too).
… IÂ’ve had seen pics from Yogyakarta. What I meant was I havenÂ’t seen much of Java pics lately as compare to Bali pics.
Brandon, don’t take me wrong you’ve got beautiful pictures–that’s why I’d like to see more in diverse subjects.
First of all, thank you for the curiosity – I consider it a compliment that you are showing interest in seeing more diverse photography from my travels. I have traveled throughout many parts of Java, but at times the photos get lost in the posts of this site, only make it to flickr, are still on my hard-drive, or (very likely) didn’t have my camera with me.
Now to further answer your question, unfortunately, I haven’t had the chance to visit many of the other major islands in Indonesia. I spent many of my holidays in Bali for a specific reason – I had thoughts of moving there after leaving Jakarta. (plans may have changed) For this reason, I have been lacking in my travels to experience the amazing diversity that Indonesia offers.
I’m still in the process of going through the thousand+ photos from my last trip to Bali, hence the continual stream of Balinese related photography recently. I haven’t had much time lately to take pictures, but once I do I’m planning on capturing some new material based upon Jakarta’s ‘culture’, and move into some other areas of photography that I have yet to explore.
